Help with PCM1 and CD Player

I have a 2000 996 with PCM1 Nav. I replaced the broken CD player (CDC-3) with another one (CDC-3). I now get 'No CD Player'. Is the CDC-3 a plug and play device or do I have to re-initialize the PCM system and enter all the codes.

It really should be 'plug and play' especially with no MOST. Are you sure the connections are OK?? Is the CD-3 a known working unit?? If so, try taking off the battery for a few minutes and try again. Make sure you have the PCM codes though before you do! ;-) Key in the ignition to stop the alarm going off too.
