DIY guide for removing interior plastic pieces?

Recommended Posts

Everythings off now except, the cigarette lighter and the wiper speed controller/dialler(same spot as the cigarette lighter on the other piece) I just can't seem to get them off! I could always "mask" them up but would prefer doing it properly! Any other tips?

There is a black clip above your lamp holder(green) for the ring. You will need to pop it out.post-23680-1192160699_thumb.jpg

Thanks again Chris, you have been very helpful.

Most pieces have been removed relatively trouble free so far thanks to everyones inputs in this thread. However I have run into one problem. Removal of the center dash trim, two "outer" trims (ones with 3 vertical buttons) off, climate control unit off, how do you remove the stereo unit (or din)?

If I understood you correctly I did already removed the black clip and also the green piece. Now its just the lighter assembly like in your picture, how do I get it loose from the trim piece?

Once your green piece is removed whole cylinder should slide out forward. I believe there are 2 tabs you will need to pry and hold.

You were right. Hold down the top (clear plastic) tab and push forward, the top half lighter assembly comes out first then the bottom tab will come loose. Easier than it looks. Cheers

Panameras:

The pieces look really good. Thanks for sharing photos.

Could you be sure to post photos of the car when everything has been installed?

Before and After would be even better.

I know how much work it was for you to take everything out in one piece. I also know you will probably enjoy the reassembly process a lot more!

Good Luck!

Regards, Maurice.

I will surely post before and after photos when I get the chance to put everything back in. Probably this weekend hopefully.

Good luck to me not to break anything :D

Could you tell me what the paint code was that your painter used for the interior pieces and do they match the existing silver interior pieces.

Thanks,

Jerry

Unfortunately I couldn't get the factory paint code of the interior silver in time for spraying so my painter tried his best matching it. Its not 100% but close enough. Wait for my after photos.

seafeye: all cost me about 450 usd
