Is The Shifter On A 4s Already "short"?

Recommended Posts

Traded my 07 C2S (which had a factory short shifter) for a new 08 Targa 4S yesterday (:D) and the shifter is, well, short!

I negotiated to have a short shifter put in with the dealer, and will bring it buy next week, but I'll be damned if it doesn't feel short as hell already.

Do C4S / T4S already include the short shifter??

If so, I'll swap my shortshifter kit for another goodie.

Thanks all

Hi TNC.......No the C4S and T4S dont come with a short shifter pre-installed. I have a 997 C4S and it did not come with a short shift, I had to buy one from Porsche and have them install it. Definitely a well worth it option. You go through the gears with less distance and more precision.

Cheers...

I purchased an 08 C4S. I tried to order the short shifter from the factory and was unable to do so.

I purchased a Porsche short shifter and installed it in the car. The short shifter I installed shortened the 1-2 shift by about 3 cm.

:)
