Trouble With The Speed Adjusted Volume On Becker?

Recommended Posts

My Becker volume doesn't seem to be adjusting with the speed anymore. I don't remember exactly when this started happening, but it was around the time I had my Fabspeed installed. What would a muffler have to do with this? Well, the computer was also reset to allow the car to tune faster to the new exhaust. Could that have possibly had something to do with it?

Anybody else ever have this problem come up?

Thanks.

On most of the Becker Radios you use the following procedure to adjust the speed dependent volume:

1. Select the User menu by pressing the down arrow button for longer than 8 seconds. Immediately (within 4 seconds).

2. Rotate the right knob until you come to the GAL display. Use the arrow keys to set the GAL. Settings are Off, and 1 to 7. Default is 3 or 4 (on some radios).

3. Rotate the right knob until END is displayed. The unit will revert to normal use in about 4 seconds.

Loren does this work on a CDR23?  If so, there is no Down Arrow button?

With the CDR23, you press the sound button a few times until you get to the selection point. On my '04 it's called AP (audio pilot--actually changes volume based on interior sound level, not speed) and you turn the right knob to select on or off. I believe on the '03s it's the same procedure for GAL.

The CDR-23 radio that started in 2003 does not have the GAL function if you have the Bose option. GAL is replaced by AudioPiolt. A microphone in the instrument cluster where we usually have a dummy grill for the cell phone mic we never had in the US.

OK, I have an '03 Non-Bose system. When I press the Sound Button I get...Treble, Bass, Fader, Loudness, Dynamic Audio. No Auto Pilot. Could it be the Dynamic Audio? I had that one once and didn't notice any difference.
