Boxster intercooler?....

Recommended Posts

I haven't heard of an intercooler being installed on a supercharged car, but it has been done on the turbo cars. I think the Gemballa "biturbo" puts the intercooler in the trunk. Gary's turbo Boxster in the United States has the intercooler installed under the transmission. Photos and details of Gary's setup are here:

Hey pk2, I remember reading an article on european magzine for their project turbo car? I think

Hi, anybody mounted an intercooler on their Super or turbocharged Boxster ? If so, where and what kind? Does it require remaping your AIC or ECU. Also if your using a piggy back device, what kind?

Thanx, PK

Supercharged, and ya its in and screaming,. Still got an number of irritating bugs to shake out, don't wander to far from home yet.

I haven't gotten used to the strange torque curve. It,s really easyto get way sidways at low revs & moderate to hard throttle. Weird

Over all though it's just competent. No turbo like whiplash but it just it feels strong, always,,,,, and stomped on, it just squirts around and before you know it everybody's in your rear view.

Regards, PK

It is in fact the same car. 1year 18 day buildout on it. By the spring I will have the KW V3 coilovers, new toe links, sway bars, and other sus componets.

Mods to Date:

2000 Boxster S:

Aero Kit 1, 18" twist wheels, Hardtop, B&M SSk, Evo Intake, F&R wheel spacers, Cargraphics Exhaust, clear corner and rear tail lights, Techart style heaadlight covers, Eibach Springs, iA SuperCharger and headers

And soon a new rear window ;)
