Recommended Posts

Hi there Im a new owner of a 1999 Carrera with 40K miles. i have noticed that there are some foamy flakes coming out of the A/C vents . Is it something i have to change like a filter? The air is ice cold. Do anyone knows how to adjust the loose center vent ?

Thanks

Hello,

You can replace your pollen filter that is in the trunk. I had one of the center vents that was constantly drooping down and misdirecting the A/C. I took some velcro tape tape to fix the problem. You take the furry side and cut 1/2 inch strip off. Point the dropping vent all the way down and up the velcro on the exposed side. The you can roll the vent back to were you want it and it wont droop anymorre. Also the velcro will be hidden back behind the grill so nobody ever sees it.

I removed the pollen filter and vacum cleaned it (needs replacement) but it didnt help. I think this foam flakes are some kind of isolation material of the a/c that is disentrigating. I fixed the a/c vents with velcro as you suggested. Thanks
