Retrofit cruise control in Mk1 GT3

Hi All,

I've been reading a lot about retrofitting cruise control and the OBC hack.

I understand that the Mk1 GT3 runs the 5.2.2 DME. Can you retrofit cruise control to this DME? I've searched the wiring diagrams for the car, and nothing comes up for it the 5.2.2 DME.

Thanks,

Jason

I had my dealer retrofit cc onto my '04 GT3. Don't know why that couldn't be done to yours.

From the repair order:

Parts:

1 996-613-219-10-EWC, Column switch assy

1 PNA-721-043-00-040, Repair set K - #9600

2 PNA-721-043-00-063, Repair set 03 - #960

10 999-513-007-40, Tie-wraps ($2.45 ea!!!, what a crock!!)

1 PNA-721-043-00-122, Electrical housing #960122

$343 in parts, $225 in labor

NOTES: Installed column switch, and fabricated wiring harness. Coded and verified operations

Cruise for DME5.2.2 uses a mechanical actuator. It can bee retrofitted, but it isn't the simple job it is on eGas cars with DME7.2 and 7.8. I did it on mine but it was a bit of a pain to do, to be honest. You need to fit the stalk, the actuator and a new pedal assembly, and wire it all up. If you do decide to take it on, I have some wiring diagrams, and some of the hard-to-find connectors for the actuator.
