Performance Chip for Cayenne Turbo

Recommended Posts

Well, I would like to get the DME chip upgrade. But, I cannot justify $2k. So, I'm considering either UPsolute ($750) or GIAC (waiting for price). Has anyone had experience with either company/product?

Any feedback, large or small, would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a GIAC chip and Evolution cold air intake in my Boxster S. To me, the intake makes a huge difference in sound (wails at 3000rpm) and gives me a bit of boost..maybe 10hp (maybe). The chip on the other hand doesn't really do a whole lot. I was driving the car daily while chipped and recently had the DME reflashed to accept a new MAF sensor. This set my car back to stock and I don't really notice a difference. I certainly don't think it's worth $2000. I would consider just getting an intake and forgoing the chip. I've also had problems with GIAC customer service. You'd have to search my posts to find out why. Hope this helps.

A flash will do very little for a n/a motor like your boxster has - on the other hand a forced induction motor will see a huge increase from a flash do to the increase in boost from the programming - the poster has a twin turbo cayenne...

I will be visiting Upsolute at their base in Austria as its only 1.5 hours from where I am currently living in Slovakia.

I'll let you know the difference once its done. It won't be very dramatic as I only have an "S" but will be adding SpeedArt Headers & Bypass Pipe to my current SuperSprint Muffler. The combination of all parts should add some decent HP.

I will try to get it Dyno'd if possible.

I had my ECU flashed by PowerChip, but wasn't that impressed. I researched the issue again and found that Upsolute promised the greatest gain in HP amongst the various tuners. I sent the ECU back to PowerChip, had it returned to stock and then had Upsolute do their thing. Amazing result, and definately worth the cost at $750. I just wish they had a module for the Cayenne TT that allows one to change directly from stock to mod like some of the other tuners do.
