Boxster Build time

Recommended Posts

My Boxster is to be ready on the 19th of Feb. Does anyone know how long it takes for a Boxster to go from beginning to end on the line?

As you might have gussed, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

John

I gather from what my dealer tells me that the build probably takes under a day, but you can expect 4-8 weeks for US delivery. Example my car is scheduled for an April build and a late May delivery. Like you, I have to keep reminding myself to be patient.

Regards,

Alan

What Alan mentioned was my experience when I ordered my 07 last year. I did call my salesman about a month before the anticipated arrival date to obtain an updated pro-forma which at that time, had the VIN assigned. This was a big help in getting my insurance papers finalized since I bought my car in a neighboring state. This may or may not be applicable to where you live.

Congratulations on the new Boxster -- you'll love it!!!!

Regards,

paul...

John:

Congratulations!

The wait can be made a little easier if you can get a heads up from your salesman when your car gets loaded onto a ship. You can then follow its voyage and learn the arrival date at the U.S. port.

Regards, Maurice.

My brother lives in NY state and he ordered his 911 from a Pennsylvania dealer. It took 5 weeks from build date to delivery. Just wondered if this was your experience. Because I live in the Toronto area, the port of entry is Halifax, NS. Haven't heard if we can track the progress across the ocean but I will be asking. Thanks for all the high fives. Will try to figure how to upload pics when it comes.

John
