1999 996 Owners Manual

Recommended Posts

:)

i asked this yesterday,

the short answer is no. they werent released as PDF until 2003 and no one has scanned one in yet.

you can buy one from your dealer for around $30 however it seems MY99 are rather short but MY00 are available readily.

you should be safe enough using the MY03 version as its right with most stuff, just dont get excited when you see the OBC functions as the early cars can only show a few things, temp, average mpg, average speed, speed alarm and distance to empty.

hope this helps.

loren very kindly scanned his OBC section for me yesterday, its posted further down this forum in the thread i started and in tandem with the later manual should see you relatively right.

I saw one on ebay that looked like the whole package (several owners manuals) for around $150. I thought it was a little pricey.

Whatever you do don't use Sunset Imports. My girlfriend tried to buy we one of their manuals for the 996 last year for my birthday.  She even paid this jerks for express shipping. This was last June (2017). She has received nothing from them since.

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

Sunset Porsche is one of RennTech's board sponsors, and very highly regarded within the Porsche community at large.  Many poster's here, as well as shops like mine use them almost exclusively for our parts needs without problem.  Did you try to contact them to resolve your problem with them?

Sunset has a very good reputation in my book.  I've always received what I ordered and no problems.  I would contact them directly because I'm sure they keep a record of orders/shipping and so on.  Have you ever heard of "it got lost in the mail?"  Or "it was shipped but never arrived?"

Sunset Porsche has always come through for me. My only complaint is that their shipping seems a little high sometimes... Not really a big deal. I find it a little hard to believe that with today's package tracking systems it would be very difficult to resolve a situation where you didn't receive something you paid for...?
