997 iPod?

What is the best option to iPod my 997 Turbo?

I don't know what the 'best' option is but I have a Dension Gateway 500. If you search a few other Porsche forums you'll find plenty of information.

I've had the Dension in my 2005 997S for just about a year. After Dension reworked the F/W (easy customer update) a couple of times it's been rock solid. I use a 30 gb IPOD hidden in the trunk (w/ the Dension unit). The Dension via the PCM provides an 'OK' interface. It basically clones the CD changer.

Hope this helps.

Another option is the mobridge unit , supposedly developed specifically for apple equipment it is supposed to have an even better interface than the dension unit. Unlike the dension it will only work with apple equipment and has no USB capability, though it does connect with hte i phone. The dension also allows for expansion to include bluetooth hands free and voice dialling through the PCM menu.

Actually the mObridge Bluetooth solution has been out and about for a number of months now also with a fully integrated Parrot unit and iPod connection all in a single unit. It also provides a dual beamforming microphone for better echo cancellation.

Our unit also provides 5V USB charging, and always has, so unlike 90% of other iPod devices out there, we will charge your iPhone when plugged.

cheers,

Karl
