The alarm on my '97 993 Cab goes off intermittently. It all started after my last mechanic visit. He installed the ROW M030 sport suspension, completed an oil change, and engine bay cleaning. The hood was left open for a period of days as he worked on the suspension setup. When I picked up the car everything was fine, I just had to reenter the radio code (apparently the battery went dead had been recharged at the shop). The engine bay was also cleaned. Since then, the alarm will go off intermittently.

I have checked and reechecked all of the doors, trunk, and engine compartment lid to ensure that they are closed all the way. The problem went away for a week after I unplugged and reconnected the sensor on the rear engine bay latch. It has since returned with a vengeance. The alarm went off 3 times within a half hour on Wednesday and 3 times this morning at 5AM.

Please help...

Well if you disconnected the engine bay hatch switch and the problem stopped I would have to say the switch has failed, probably from water damage when the engine bay was cleaned. Replace the switch and hopefully it will sort out the problem.
