Car Alarm Not Responding

Recommended Posts

I would take car and remote to the deal. Most likely the remote has gone bad. Most likely it will need to be replaced. However, it could be the pick-up in the car. Or it could have lost it code. There is no cut off switch. It is hard wired in the car.

I got the same supprise this weekend and then remembered If the car sits with the alarm armed for more than five days the key remote will not work it goes into stand by mode to save the battery, you have to dis arm with the key in the door . See your owners manual perhaps this is the problem

Any idea as to why my alarm does not respond to the key remote? But when it is inserted to the door key hole and you turn the key, it locks and activates the alarm.

:help:

If the car will not lock/arm with the key fob buttons - start with a new battery in the key fob.

I have the same issue, only sometimes the remote works (but i have to be super close to the car, and even then sometimes it doesnt work) and sometimes it doesn't work. The key works just fine. I replaced the battery with a new one, and same results.
