Aluminum Look Fuel Cap Installation

Recommended Posts

I know installing the new gas cap is fairly straight forward, but beforeI got going on it I wondered if anyone had any tips for removing the old pin where the tether connects? Drill it out, is there a secret tool??

not sure of the install, but wondering how much the aluminum look cap cost. ?

i've seen prices around $140. the cap looks great, but i just can't justify buying a $140 cap that no one but me will see. if it was $40, i could. ;)

With today's gas prices, the ugly black locking unit looks much better........

The plastic rivet has a pin in the middle. Once the pin is pushed into the rivet it expands the back of the rivet and locks it in place. Get a small punch or the end of a drill bit and push the pin out through the back side of the rivet.
