Tail light problem

Recommended Posts

I've had this '03 Boxster S for about a year now. I was flagged down by another motorist yesterday who told me that my stop lights were out. I check and all three sets were bad. First thing I checked was the fuse, all good. Then I went and bought a few bulbs ... all the bulbs turned out to be fine. Now I'm wondering ... electrical problems?? Anyone out there with a suggestion where to look or a mechanic I can take it to (San Jose area)??

As RF said, it is usually the brake light switch.

If you can't fix it yourself take it to RennShop in Santa Clara for Marvin to look at. Tell him I sent you. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...ODE=03&id=1

I was hanging around Marvin's shop on Friday watching him reseal a 1999 996 with140,000 miles. Marvin is meticious.

Jeff,

Thanks for the recommendation ... I looked for the switch on the car, but could not find it ... it does sound like a switch .... I was hoping it's not related to the PCM ...

I did called Marvin and have an appointment for Wednesday (he's swampped).

Does anyone know the part number for the switch?? Maybe I should order it from Sunset to save a few more $$??
