My C2 baby is dead

Oh My

Last night I lost control going through a familiar tunnel. I bounced of both sides of cement walls like a pinball.. I'm quite fortunate to be alive. I have severet rauma to my head and neck but no broken bones or cuts.

The car is totalled. I actually got airborn going backwards after the first impact. I really thought at that point that I may buy the farm. Then I hit so hard I can't even describe.

I feel like I have lost my best friend. I loved that car. Now I must wait to see what the insurance company will give me. Then I will start the search for the new one.

The car held up incredibly well. That s one well built car. Both doors still open and the engine still starts. It is easy to see that frame is bent.

What a shame...

Yikes!!! Glad to hear the pilot (you did say you went airborn) will recover. Dare we ask how fast you were going when this flight occured? Good luck in your search for a new car. Don't know how insurance works in your area, but sometimes on a salvage title you car purchase the car. You may be able to sell it to a parts shop for more than you would have to pay for it. Gotta figure if the engine isn't bad, that a big chunk. Sorry for your loss, but you are lucky.

here is one more pic

phillip,

Sounds like you have come through the experience without any major injuries and for that be thankful. Reassuring the car held-up structurally as well as it did, although it certainly appears to be totalled as you mentioned earlier.

Good luck with the insurance negotiations and think positively about your next P-car. Lot's of choices out there these days with buyer's pricing advantage!!

Demosan

holy crap. Glad you made it through that one! Sorry your pal is gone. But the fun starts when you get the juices flowing while searching for another one!

Yikes, was it in one of the canyon tunnels? I'm glad you are OK, but am always sad to see a P-car damaged. They are works of art.

Thanks everyone for your condolences. I feel so bad. They towed the car away to the insurance salvage yesterday. :cursing: Made me sick to see it like that. Will negotiate the settlement price with the insurance company next week.

I'm going to look at a car tomorrow. It's a 2000 Cab with 911 badging with lots of expensive exterior mods. It also has all the Fabspeed goodies my other one had. It looks perfect and very unique. And the price is very fair.

I will be patient. I'm a lot more informed Porsche buyer this time. I will definetly get the codes read for over-revs and such.

I'll let you know what I found.

Thanks again. I'm still mourning this one. :(

Phillipj
