Roof Rails mounting instructions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just picked up roof rails for my 05 CTT (the long ones that go from front to back) and I was wondering if anyone has mounting instructions. They look pretty straight forward, but I noticed some of the mounting clips are different. I don't want the things coming off at high speed so I thought I would ask here first.

Thanks,

Bob James

Thanks Loren,

I tried to contribute, but It gave me an error in processing. Do you have another way?

Never mind it worked that time; now I'm a real member :renntech:

There is a 6 page TSB on installing the Roof Rails. Available here to Contributing Members or you can try to get your dealer to give you a copy.

Thanks Loren,

I'm surprised they recommend changing the locking screws, who would have thunk they are glued in?

Could I just not use locktite or another adhesive?

That would be your option. If it were me I would use Locktite as long as the screws are not damaged at removal.

It does look like it's blue loctite, but I see their point (and disclaimer) to get new screws. I will check tomorrow to see how much, and if available the new ones are.

Could I do an article with pictures for here?

Bob
