engine ticking noise plus engine knock

There is a post somewhere in the Cayenne forum by member gunzie, i cant find it for the moment, who have had probably the same symptoms as your car, please do a search.

I don't think that they are going to say it's normal, the engine sounds like a concrete mixer driven by an old diesel motor. Hope the best for you next Monday and rapport back please.

Hey Bro, listening to the video it sounds like U may have some people stuck in ur engine......... may be the 1st problem!! Do u have any coolant leaking? That would be #1 for a water pump I would think. I had similar noise, but I also had coolant all over the place, may be ur water pump starting to go. I had about an inch of lateral movement in mine.....whoops

could it be the coils

If it were coils he would a CEL and many faults.

update---took the car into the dealer

coils cracked--replaced--tech says all noises are ok-------

service advisor listens and agrees there are noises and tech is wrong-----

service manager is called---right away hears the sound---orders a bore inspection and advised of possible engine replacement under warranty----

will keep you posted if it turns out to be something else----
