Comfort Lighting Dimming Switch operation

Recommended Posts

Can anyone advise on how the comfort dimming push button switch on the roof mounted light control panel is supposed to work.

The manual says when all the doors are closed the door panel lights and footwell lights should be lit and can be dimmed via this switch.

I cannot get the dimming to work via this switch. I have tried with headlights on and off, no change in the dimming level whilst pressing the switch. The footwell lighting remains at the same brightness level.

Is it finger trouble from my end or is it a defect?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The changes are not dimming but 3 levels, try it in the dark, off 1 2 3 in rotation

Thanks Mudman2.

Still no go on the dimming step levels.

Regarding the operational logic of the system, do the light levels reset every cycle of the doors, meaning you have to reset the level, everytime you get in the car.

Do they stay in a dimmed state even when you are not in the car, or are they turned off automatically to prevent battery drain.

More info on the logic of operation would be appreciated.

I assume you re selected which operation you want to occur an set it to the key your using.

I think your car needs to be hooked up to PIWIS, on 03' comfort control modules were suspect.

No seat position problems, however after carrying out a factory reset via the "comfort" setting on the instrument cluster display, I have also lost the passenger mirror moving down during reverse gear selection.
