Adjusting The Engine Comp. Lever Release Cable

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a '99 996 C4. Could some one please help me locate the procedure for adjusting the cable that attaches to the lever that opens the engine compartment lind? The lever has a lot of play where as the hood/trunk cable and lever is nice and tight.

Thanks in advance! ;)

I do not think there is any adjustment of the cable - only a small adjustment in the latch position.

Chances are the cable is stretched or unwinding and about to break. I would just replace the cable.

996.512.017.00 Cable -- MSRP $40.73. Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) can likely get a much better price.

Thanks Loren! Do you know of a DIY on how to install the replacement? ;)
