Clutch Slave Cylinder - Broken Shaft

Hi Everyone,

Please refer the attached photo.... Several months ago, the clutch pedal went hard in my 2001 TT and the car stayed in gear (there is a previous post on the subject). I have finally got around to removing the slave cylinder and have found that the shaft (which works on the clutch fork) to be broken. It appears to be a fatigue failure of the shaft. I am assuming that the other bit is somewhere in the bell housing....

Has anyone come across this problem before?

Is it an indication of a bigger problem?

Most common issues are: fork axle bearing(s) faulty - bended fork axle - pressure plate faulty. I would take a look inside the bell housing and inspect/check the complete clutch system.

Yup, I'd drop the trans... Fortunately right now is a perfect time to upgrade to the EVOMs GT2 Hydraulics "kit" and get rid of that garbage pentosin based system.
