DIY Removing 997 Center Console

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to replace the main rear center console to carbon fiber one that they sell at macarbon. I really want to order it but i want to make sure i know how to remove my stock one. Can you please please provide me with detailed info hopefully with pictures? Someone from 6speed said you could help me Loren

Which part of the console (front or rear)?

What are you wanting to do? (gearshift knob, short shifter, ?)

Thanks for the info Loren. So do i have to remove the pdk shiftknob and shift boot before i can remove the center console? thanks

Download the B&M short shifter instructions found here or on B&M's site. These instructions have pictures and are very good since you have to remove the rear center console to replace the shifter.

Is this a 997-1 or 997-2 (MY09)?

I have not seen any service manual sections for the 997-2 (MY09) cars yet. So unless a tech here has been to training on the new cars I can not help.
