Left turn signal flashes fast

Recommended Posts

Some times when I activate the left turn signal on my 06 CS it flashes fast and gives me an error indication "check directional signal". I've gotten out to check the front and rear and the lites are both flashing just flashing quicker than normal and quicker than the right side. Any ideas?

As I stated in my original post - the front and rear lights are working and it's the same lights on the left as on the right side --so it's not a burned out light. The fact that it only happens ocasionally is what has me confused. Someone on the 6speed forum has the same problem except his is right side flashes fast.

Had the same intermittent problem. Combination of a corroded contact and an improperly "locked" headlight assembly. When reinstalling, using the supplied tool, make sure that the shaft is rotated so that the curved part of the rod that engages the headlight is raised. Push the assembly into place as far as possible, and then crank the tool while pushing firmly on the headlight. It will make a "pop" as it locks into place.

I second the bulb grease tip. The other poster who mentioned the headlight closure procedure is worth listening to as well since an incorrectly locked headlamp can come flying out under braking and then you have a MUCH bigger expense on your hands. Listen for the "click" when you lock it down.

The problem occured again afew days ago. Happened after I washed the car. This time I noticed that it is only the dash indicator lamp that is flashing fast--the front and rear lamps are flashing at normal speed. The next day the problem was gone.
