couple more C4S questions

Recommended Posts

did all C4S's ('02 is specific year of interest to me) get the 3.6L motor? or did some get the older 3.4L?

was '02 first year for the C4S? any known 1st-year bugs with it?

base wheels are the solid-spokes, right? (not hollow spoke like the turbo)

any known weak points on a C4S? (other than the usual M96 issues like RMS, porous castings, etc).

am thinking of buying a CPO-warranteed C4S...anything specific i should watch out for?

hidden exclusions on CPO warranties? seems like it just extends the basic factory bumper-bumper warranty to 6yr/100k miles (vs. basic factory 4yr/50k).

for grins.....anyone have any thoughts on how implausible / impossible it would be to convert a C4S over to be a turbo? not planning to do this but the thought struck me as an interesting idea if i were to keep this car long enough to kill the M96 motor.

thank you to all for any feedback on these questions!

It would be difficult and very expense. You would need a new engine (it isn't possible to convert the M96), new tranny, new ECU software, and new wiring harness, at a minimum. Probably a bunch of other detail stuff as well. Expect to pay at least $50K for this conversion. Trading the C4S on a TT would be much less expensive.

A more cost effective option would be to add a supercharger to the existing M96 engine. This has been done successfully on both 3.4L and 3.6L cars.
