Strange sensor fitted to front bar

Another quickie...

I have a strange looking sensor on the front bar. Its not like the reversing sensor. More like a "kangaroo scarer" that we have on vehicles here. (you hit one of those in a 911 and it will be in the car with you pretty quickly :o )

The difference is that this one is not a passive sonic device as it has a couple of wires attached to it.

I have attached a photo in case anyone knows what this might be....

Yep thats where it is... Wondered about that but figured that outside air temp wouldnt be located in high pressure air zone due cooling effect.
