Instrument gauge faces

Two part question, and perhaps a stupid idea, but if one purchased a set of gauges from a 997 instrument cluster can the faces be removed easily? And would the 997 speedo, tach and temp/fuel faces be a direct replacement for 987 gauge faces?

Let me re-ask this. Can gauge faces be removed easily? If so are the Speedometer, tach, and tem/fuel gauge faces on a 987 the same as the corresponding on a 997? I can get a white face cluster really cheap and swap the faces if this is possible. Someone has to know this.

987 speedometer limited at 280 Km/h - 997 speedometer limited at 330 Km/h, RPM and fuel/temp have the same lay out, would possibly fit.
