Alarm fault

Hey guys,

In regard to my '04 Boxster, I have noticed that when I have the top down and go to set the alarm

after locking the center console, I get a single horn beep fault upon setting the alarm.

Is it normal for this to occur, or do I have a alarm fault at the center console lock??

A single beep means that one alarm zone is open.

Without the Durametric Software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester you are just guessing.

If were to guess I'd say the center console being open is the most common.

Without the Durametric Software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester you are just guessing.

If were to guess I'd say the center console being open is the most common.

How many zones are there? And what are they?

Thanks Loren...Just waiting to hear back from the dealership here to see if they have time to look at it for me.

Last night my alarm went off out of the blue and now i get the famous beep when locking the doors.

Neighbours aren't too impressed.

Couldn't wait for the dealer so i opted to buy the durametric software.

This is what it found: Not quite sure where to go from here. Even if i replace a broken part i will still need the Porsche Computer to reset the codes won't I?

Clear them and see which come back (after locking and unlocking).

I suspect it will be fault 33 Interior sensor faulty.

Locked and unlocked the car. I didn't get the beep that i have been getting the past couple of days but i still have the same faults.

You have to clear the faults - they do not clear themselves.

Durametric can not clear alarm faults.

You can check the FAQ on the Durametric web site for specifics but Loren is right. Durametric software can't clear alarm fault history because they "don't have security access". However, if you look where it says "Status: not present" that means that the fault is not currently active. At least that is how I understand the Durametric software works. The only way to clear the fault history is with a PST2 or PIWIS.
