Replaced my alternator, but extra part?

Recommended Posts

Hello. I had an alternator fail on my 01 996. Thank goodness I was blocks from home. I bought a rebuilt Bosch, and new serp belt, and was amazed at the eaze of install. It took about 1/2 hour to complete.

In any event, after I finished, I found this under my engine compartment. Anyone know what it is and/or where it goes?

Those go at the bottom of your air cleaner hosing to hold it in place.

Thanks Loren. One grommet was in the engine compartment, the other in the photo. Quite apparent that I needed these. Thanks again.

  • 1 year later...

I am a new p-car owner and I've been lurking on this forum for a while and I have to say I am amazed by the knowledge Loren has. Thanks for contributing and helping us out.
