Adjusting spoiler height on aero kit 2008 boxster-s

Recommended Posts

Hi I finally got my aero kit on the 2008 Boxster-S but when I picked it up I noticed a gap between bottom of upper moveable spoiler and fixed duck-tail base. About 1/2 inch. I called shop and they said that was first one they had put on and could not get it to go down any lower. I verified they had top wing pushed all the way down on posts. The kit I had was supposed to have everything you need to make change. It was obviously a factory kit I got through Sunset imports off this site. Anyone know if that wing is adjustable so I can take gap out? Everey picture I have seen of aero kit and the Limited Edition from 2008 (which has same rear system) shows them flush when closed all the way.

Thanks for any advice.

COBOXSTER-S, can you post a picture of your car? What did the parts guys at Sunset say? They are great guys, and can maybe help you too.

Yeah I have to post them tonite after work. Kit looks awesome otherwise. I found a TSB for the sport design package option XAL here on site and there seems to be an adjustable screw on top of rod. Now just have to see if I can screw that rod down the 1/2 inch or if it is already bottomed out.

Did a dealership do the work? I wonder if there is any necessary re-programing ron the DME equired??

Yeah that's the rub a dealership did do the work so I could keep it under manufacturer's warranty. I don't think DME is involved other than speed trigger at 75 MPH. I told them I found TSB info on this site and I think they are a little embarrased.

Looks good! Glad you got it corrected. Who did the paint work on the aero kit? What was the total$? Not cheap, I'm sure.

Thanks I had dealer in Denver area do it (Prestige Imports). $1300 for paint and install. Car now has some aspects of Limited edition and the RS-60

So, that was $1,300 for the rear bumper cover, spoiler, paint and install? Seems like a pretty good deal. Did you or are you planning to do the front splitters too?

Did Sunset just sell you the aero kit for the rear end?

Yes it included front rs-60 type aero splitters. Have pix in my registry. Sunset gave great deal. Was only one left in country

paid $3700 with shipping for aero kit option code is XAL.
