Hi All,

I have n '05 987 Boxster. Recently I am having a problem with the starting interlock. Up unil a week ago I had no issues depressing the clutch to start the car. I began having to put exceissive pressure on the clutch pedal so the car would start. Yesterday I had to hammer the clutch pedal to the floor to get the interlock active to start the car.

Is there a simple/easy adjustment or switch to replace; or is this the symptom of a bigger problem? <_<

Thanks for any help in advance,

Carbon

Replace the switch on the clutch pedal or check it out with a PIWIS diagnostic tool, there should be (switch) fault codes in the memory.

RFM,

No releif, changed out switch and checked wiring. Problem still persists. I found that three pumps of the clutch pedal ussually allows the start.

This is easy to test bypass the switch a jumper wire. Be careful because now the car will start without the clutch being depressed.

If it always works then you need a new switch or it needs to be properly adjusted.

I tried jumping the switch and the problem persisted. This is very frustrating. Is there more than one swith on the clutch pedal? Am I looking at the wrong switch? Is 996-613-114-01 the correct part number?
