Simoniz Fix It Scratch Remover, Does it work or hoax?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I was watching some television today and I saw this commercial that tells about this product that can remove scratches and nicks.

It's called "Simoniz Fit It Scratch Remover." Heres a link below, maybe you guys get the idea. I know a lot As Seen on TV doesn't work well, and lead to waste of money.

I wonder have any of you guys heard of it? or use them? I have taken the car to the detailer and the minor scratches eventually come back.. So outside of a new paint job I am wondering if this stuff works...

Thanks.

Brian

I use a scratch remover on small scuffs. It works really well on heels scuffs on the door sills etc. Also have removed scratches on rear bumper from me being careless when working in the engine bay. I have never tried it on a scratch that has gone through the clear coat.

If you have deep scratches I would suggest going to your body shop. On my wifes old Benz I had all door dings and scratches removed for $150 bucks.

Have no experience with the product you mentioned.

Hope this helps,

I think this is just a filler, not a true permanent scratch repair.

For scratches in clearcoat, I've used Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 and it works pretty well. There are other products that are designed to be used with random orbital buffers that work well too, like Griot's Garage products.

It is a filler, and so is ScratchX (although ScratchX contains polish too). For deep scratches, break out the touch-up--it'll be permanent and can be invisible if applied and finished well.
