I'm just wondering if anyone has removed the adjacent oil mist separator? It is the larger black round object on the valve cover. I think it might be the source of a small vacuum leak just like the purge valve. Are there any serviceable parts in the separator?

OIl separator must be replaced as a complete assembly. How did you conclude it's causing a vacuum leak?

Many thanks for posting this tutorial.  I changed my purge valve this morning.  With these instructions, took no more than 1.5 hours including setup and cleanup.  Only thing I might add, is to partially reset the metal clips on the injector wiring connections before plugging back together.  Somehow I had the foresight to do this.  I think it was because I realized, as I was unclipping them, that reconnecting was going to be a PITA.  It wasn't.
