When I select Sport mode on my 997.2 S PDK, assuming the car is warmed up, the very first time I shift into second it always has a slower shift where the clutch slips a bit but every shift thereafter is fine. If I shut the car off and restart, I can recreate it again. Is this because the Sport PLus is adaptive and learning my driving style?

My other question was, does the gearbox adapt with each restart or does it combine all the prior driving experiences?

Thanks in advance.

Jon

PDK in D mode is adaptive except in Sport Plus, which should shift at redline (and should not be used on the street). Its adaptive algorithm learns over time - it does not just replicate the last time.

I see. So since I drive the car nearly 100 percent of the time in manual (sport mode), then it really hasnt learned much about my driving style.

I also notice that the downshift's in D always seem to be smoother than in manual mode. Is that due to the programing in D executing the perfect shifts based on the software mapping?

I was told it modulates the ignition timing just prior to the downshift in D mode. I doesn't do it in M mode.

BTW - it's fascinating watching the PDK learn in D mode. Iit gets better day by day.
