Hi

I was a lurker and an infrequent poster in a previous life when I had a 996 Carrera 4 and this forum was always a source of useful information and advice.

It's nearly four years since I sold that car to a mate as I took delivery of a V8 Vantage. Since then, I sold the Aston and have had a couple of years driving comparatively sensible cars (BMW 330d coupe).

Yesterday I took delivery of a shiny new Aqua Blue Carrera S, so am back in Porscheland! :D

I've a query to do with the display of contacts on PCM having downloaded my contact list from my iPhone 3G.

The pairing was easy, the download easy but the listing is arse-about-tit to how I'd like it to be;

ie: "Brown Gordon" not "Gordon Brown"

(not that I have the PM's number but you get the idea...!)

There doesn't seem to be a setting in PCM to alter the sort order or display order like there is on the phone.

The dealer was sure he knew of another customer with this issue and that it was resolved but didn't know what needed to be done.

I've not had a chance to play yet (should have a chance to do so tomorrow) but in advance, does anyone know what I need to do so my phone numbers are listed the way I want them to be in the car please?

I don't have that problem, on the iPhone 3G settings/mail, contact, calendar under contacts shows choice for sort order and display order - try that maybe.

been there, checked that!

on my iPhone 3G (latest firmware)

Sort Order First, Last

Display Order First, Last

Outlook sync's with the iPhone and everything is fine on each device...

Outlook (2003 - relevant?) is set thus:

Default "Full Name" order: First (Middle) Last

Default "File As" order: First Last
