I just purchased a 965 and the car seems in good condition it is a 1992. Given it is 17 years old I am not surprised to see some oil seepage under the car it appears there must be a very slow leak from the oil pipe I think.

There is not a drop on the garage floor after 4 weeks but from the pice you can see what I am talking about. In the spring I will take the car out of storage and change the headers for some performance ones and I thought I would change the line in the picture. no oil on the heads. Am I the right track ?

The car had its 45k service at the dealer a few months ago and came back ok, it has been serviced at the came dealer for the last 10 years and there is a great service history on the car with no real problems.

any input would be appreciated.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi,I had the same problem with 2 cars.In first case was 964 and one of hoses(with flow) was broken, and was leaking when the car was running, small leak.Second case was 2 993's,no leak anywhere, couple weeks of driving solved the problem, somebody splited the oil around the filling neck, and takes some time to burn it from places you can't wipe by hand.Clean and observe.

I am not an expert

sorry for my english B)
