So, need to remove my headlamps. Went to the trunk, lifted the inside lid and see this nice little set of tools in a styrofoam holder. Unfortunately, it seems to have some missing tools, including the wrench for removing the headlamps.

I read that this is a hex wrench of sorts. Is it best to go to Porsche and buy a new one or can I just purchase some size of female hex wrench for this? Size?

Thank you

Michael

I was exactly in the same situation only a week ago. 6mm socket wrench works. You will have to remove the plastic engine bay cover for the side of the headlamp you will work on. If you had the Porsche tool, you could just lift the circular cover (or plug) instead of having to remove this entire plastic piece (I mean one piece out of several pieces there) to access the rotating shaft. Ordering the Porsche OEM tool for your tool box in the trunk will take some time unlike other parts. Until then, this 6mm long socket or regular short socket with an extension bar works just fine. My local dealer in Southern California quoted over 14 dollars.
