Removing The Convertible Top Mechanism/ Putting A Hardtop

Recommended Posts

can someone guide me in removing the entire convertible top and putting my hardtop "permanently"?...i'm done with the convertible canvass top because i had a quote of $4400 for the repair of my top at Hoehn. multiple components broken, -transmission, cables, bows, etc. i dont want to spend that much and would rather put the money somewhere else on the car...i can still open the top and close it but not all the way. the spinlocks were bent and therefore the hardtop is impossible to install at the moment. i wanna make it a "Spec Boxster" type car but of course without the stripping, lightening and all that. still wanna make it to a daily driver.

thanks in advance.

Here is a step by step DIY for removing the entire top and frame assembly:

Just follow the first five steps and you'll be done.
