Xd9 Option: Wheels Painted In Body Colour

Recommended Posts

Has anyone got or seen a 996 Turbo with this option?

My 996 Turbo has the standard 18" Turbo wheels, with M446 Coloured Porsche shield wheel cap and I'm considering reproducing the XD9 option (body colour is Basaltschwarz metallic), but I don't know the details:

1 - Is the wheel fully painted in the body colour, or is the outer ring left in silver?

2 - Are the bolts also painted or coated in black?

3 - Is the M446 hub cap also painted in black, minus the Porsche shield?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Found this info on Rennlist.com, seems to answer your question for the most part:

"option - xd9 rims & caps partial paint ext. color

if you run the 3d configurator on pcna's site it shows you a rendering of what the above option is on each model.

for most models it's painting all but the outer rim.

the turbo get a special semi cgt-like job. "

Thanks for the research and info! The good people at Rennlist have already sent me a picture of a sample, painted Speed Yellow, illustrating that the outer ring is left in silver as well as the whole interior of the wheel. The hub cap is painted and the bolts are not painted.
