I have a 2003, C 4 S with 50 k,

One cylinder started miss firing, replaced the coils and plugs on the left side so far, but still have the same issue, do I need to replace all 6 of them in order to remove the issue, the coils where cracked, easy to see.

Could I have damaged the catalytic converter, but drove only 5 - 10 miles, and should not effect the miss firing?

Any help and ideas would be great,

Thanks,

Michael

What is the exact fault code(s) please?

Hello Lauren,

Sorry, I don't have access to get the codes, and could not get an appointment at the dealer, plus I am afraid to drive to the dealer, catalytic, can any decent shop read the codes?

Thanks,

Michael

hi i posted this as a new thread but your prob sounds like mu cayennes so just thought id add my bit in too...., see below:

Hi , 2003, 53 cayenne s , UK. 65,000 miles, good service history, No know other history of problems. owned since Jan 2007 @ 40k miles aprox

SO...here's the problem(S)

its started to jerk while picking up, then after a few weeks it started to jerk and shake, almost like its about to stall in and out of idle. (have engine knocking noise too).

It had a service incl spark plug replacement winter 2009. Well 2 weeks ago i got it into porsche and they replaced 2 coil packs, it seemed to solve it but 2 days ago its all started again.the shakes and knocking seems louder.

Im not that clued up with all this and have checked through some of the threads in these forums.

Has anyone seen/cured these probs?

could it be anything to do with cam sensors? as once a friend with some plug in diagnostic tool got 2 fault codes, i think they were p0011 and other fault was maybe p0021(not 100% sure) but on checking it did say something P0011: Camshaft position Timing over.

any suggestions?

Yes, and without the codes everyone is just guessing.

Hi Loren,

I will get the fault codes first, and also replace the right side, plugs and coils,

Thank you,

Michael
