fault codes read out question

Recommended Posts

I need to know what the following fault codes are that were read out on my car:

P1128 bank # 1

P1130 Bank # 2

I understand they are oxygen sensor codes, but i would like to know what might have caused them to light up my check engine light.

All help would be appreciated!

Steve

P1128 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 1 – Above Limit

P1130 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 – Above Limit

Possible fault causes:

– Incorrect signal from MAF sensor

– Intake air system leaking

– Fuel pressure too low

– Volume supply of fuel pump too low

– Fuel injectors fouled

– Exhaust system leaking

I would start with cleaning the MAF.

Thanks again Loren, I think I'll check the MAF, I pretty sure there is a DIY for old fogies like me, yes?
