"Lucas" upper cyl lubricant & injector cleaner ?

Recommended Posts

I've read some pros & cons in regards to fuel additives like Chevron Techron (got different opinions on that one ? ) But has anyone tried "Lucas" upper cylinder lubricant & injector cleaner ?

I have tried it on all my other cars with no worries,in fact on a recent highway trip (Daytona Bch to Ft Lauderdale) I got fantastic gas mileage due to it in my M-3 biggrin.gif The parts guys swear by it !

Anyone got any thought on the Lucas stuff , or Techron , or other similar fuel additives, and I wonder if Porsche has one , or recommends a particular brand ?

Porsche recommends no fuel additives (oil additives neither) in contrary, however, a premium brand fuel additive mixed in the correct way with fuel has advantage, a clean engine, valves and combustion room, resulting in more miles per gallon and smoother response IMHO.

Techron is an excellent product, we use it in our customer cars all the time. Keeps the injection system up to snuff with no unwanted side effects. You really only need to use it once a year.

Actually I found out there is an actual genuine "Porsche" fuel additive. This link worked the other day, but was not working at the present time, but here it is :http://www.porsche.com/china/en/accessoriesandservice/porscheservice/fueladditive/ Apparently everything we heard about Porsche NOT recommending a fuel additive is NOT true, they have their own.

Porsche really, REALLY approves the use of Keropur. Purchase a case or two from your authorized Porsche Centre indeed!

"The effectiveness of Keropur depends on its continuous utilisation. Accordingly every time refuelling the vehicle one can of Keropur needs to be added. Preferably for reasons of blending the additive should be added before refuelling.

You can purchase Keropur from all authorised Porsche Centres."
