Hmm, oil spots on garage floor....

Recommended Posts

My '04 C4S Cab began showing a few signs of oil about a month ago (took delivery May '04). Small spot in same location, about the size of a quarter.

Not a puddle, not black, but light brown, almost looks like a smudge. Not there each day. Car might sit 3-4 days, then spot. Otherwise nothing much. Only slight drop in oil measurement noticed.

Service appointment next week. Yeah, I'm concerned about RMS, but figure it might be something less dramatic. Hoping, anyway.

Thoughts?

Could be cosmoline melting off. Have you looked at the bottom of the engine/trans to see if it's oily where they meet?
