problem in my cayenne TT need help

Recommended Posts

I have a problem and I need your opinion

2 months ago I got my new cayenne TT 2005 it was awesome no car can match it  i have bmw 540i 2001 Noooo match cayenne TT is the best I love it

But one thing kept bugging me :cursing: that is the oil light turned on every 1000-1500 and I had to take it to the dealer to add some oil to the engine and the dealer told me that was a normal thing to happen and it will keep happening till I reach 10000-12000 Km I want to know if this is something I should worry about or is it something normal

what do you think guys <_<

A TT will be heavy on oil for the first 5-6K miles then reduce substantially.

Hi,

sorry to hear that problem. I've had 2 cayennes one V6 and now a TT. I can't believe the dealer told you that! They are full of B.S.

that is NOT NORMAL at all. I would be so bummed if that was mine. take it to another dealer ASAP.

TT's do tend to burn up a little oil, agreed. But not a substantial amount to where every 1,000 kms or 620 miles need to be topped off to the point the oil light comes on.

My oil light came on once after burning up oil, but that was about 5,000 miles or 3,1000 kms. It was approx. 4 quarts low before the light came on.

so to burn approx 4 quarts of oil at every 1000kms, that def sounds like a problem.

I suggest taking it to another dealer to get another opinion.

It is possible that a new engine will burn extra oil while the piston rings seat, but this sounds excessive. And break-in shouldn't last more than a couple thousand miles at most. My Cayenne TT uses a quart every 4000 miles and has done so since it had 5K miles on the odometer.

You should be suspicious that your dealer is BS-ing you. I suggest you get a second opinion from a different dealer. You should also start documenting your oil consumption in case you need to convince someone at PCNA that your car needs some (very expensive) warranty work.

thanks guys 4 ur responds

sorry for the delay I will take ur suggestions and get 2nd opinion on the car and actually I noticed that oil was decreased at about 1800 km which is equivelant to 1120 miles but this still doesn't seem normal.

by the way I drive like a maniac :king: and when I see a muscle car on the road I like to race him and see if I can make him pitty his car :drive:

the cars that saw my dust

1) ferrari 360 spider (if we race from stand he can take but if we started from 60-80 the turbo kicks his *** man)

2) porsche 911 normal with no special kit (kicked his ***)

3) jaguar xk8 (no problem)

4) z28 also no problem

the cars that made me weep

1) porsche 911 gt2 (I don't know what happened to mind because I thought I could have a tie with it or at least I could be right behind him maybe because that on the same day I've beaten the normal 911 ahhhhhhh it was a yellow one, 911 gt2, I saw him next to me while stopping at a red light. first I gave him the go ahead sign but he laughed and turned his face the other way then I stepped on the gas pedle couple of times to get his attention. he wanted to know what kind of cayenne I had so he took a look at my rims and saw the shiny red brakes and then he gave the I don't care look, s when the light turned green and as I was about to let him eat my dust he was 100 meters ahead of me  . after I asked around about the guy it turned out that he had stage one in his car and which is about an 800 horse power :notworthy: . it was a great car to be beaten by. that's enough misery for now)

at last thank you all for your big help and fast respond

I will put the picture of my car, sorry I have one picture, I took it in the dealer when they were adding a roof trail to it.

sorry my reply is running long but when I write my fingers can't stop

One last question is it worth to upgrade the engine to 500 hp

it costs here 9000$ for only 50 more hp

thanx all and catch you later.

What kind of 911 turbo, 930? The only way you beat a 996 Turbo is if the guy wasnt racing. The fact of the matter is you're 2000 pounds heavier and you've only got 30 more horsepower. Also where did you get enough cash to buy a Cayenne, let alone a turbo? Your typing skills are very sophomoric.

Lastly, chances are you're using so much oil because it sounds like you drive like a madman. If you're dealer saw any oil leaks or blatent smoke in the exhaust, they would have made a repair. It doesnt make sense for them to turn away income like that.

PTEC,

Take it easy now. If you would have read his prior post, he never said he beat a 911 turbo. He beat a 911 normally aspirated model and never clarified the year.

Why are you questioning his economical situation anyway? what does that have to do with anything regarding his question about his oil light?

The purpose of his intial post was to ask fellow Cayenne owners for help and their opinion... not to be criticized. :offtopic:

And then you make a rude comment about his typing skills? You certainly are on the wrong board.

he's obviously a spirited driver and there is nothing wrong with that. These cars are meant to be driven hard and the fact that having to top oil off at such a small amount of travel is unacceptable.

c'mon, like you, we're all here for our love of cars! let's keep everything cool...

I have zero problems with "spirited driving." That, however doesn't sound like what our friend here is doing. It comes across as he races every car he sits next to at a light.

I don't know how I thought he said he had beaten a Turbo, thats my mistake. I love talking about cars but when people start talking like teenagers sending each other instant messages on AOL, its mildly annoying.

Sorry to anyone I upset.

First of all, I'd like to thank M A $ E :) for replying before I had the chance to see what PTEC  said about me. I don't make it a habit of me to look for other people's mistakes in typing or other matters, but don't you think when someone criticizes the way I type he should type perfectly. Then why the hell did he write "If you're dealer saw any oil leaks ..." when he clearly meant "If your dealer saw any oil leaks ..." Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others. That's for the typing comment. For the financial comment, who died and made him the head of the treasury department. By the way we have 2 Cayenne TT, one for me and the other belongs to my brother, and they are still under warranty since they are 2005 and we are still in 2004, so if the dealer fixes them or not I'm not paying a penny. Just to let you know we are considered the poor ones in my family because my cousin has 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago. No heart feelings man but you made me get off the main topic which was the question about the oil problem. As you know I registered in this forum to get an answer about my oil problem but to make conversation I shared some stories that happened with me about racing. If this bothered anybody in the group I'm sorry to say I don't care. At the end I agree with M A $ E :) when he said "we're all here for our love of cars! let's keep everything cool... "

cat bypass pipes +25hp and supersport muffler +15 and free flow air filter will get you very close to 50 additional ponies for about $1500. Sounds like a good deal to me
