Battery fine, but car wont start ? HELP

After having so many battery problems, I finally bought an official Porsche trickle charger, and a new battery. Battery appears ok, but when I try to start the car nothing happens ?

I have a 2002 911 / 996 with only 21000 miles on the clock. Any ides ? Could it be a fuse, relay, starter motor perhaps ? HELP ! unsure.gif

if nothing at all happens, no engine turning over, no starter motor kicking in, nothing, I would guess the problem is in the ignition switch. I think others here have posted diy info about how to get it out and get a new one in. could be a relay, but I'd guess its the switch. good luck....

Thanks guys for the advice. But what it was, was my floor mat had crept up high on the floor,and hence the safety clutch switch,was not depressed. I pulled the mat back down into it's proper position, pushed in the clutch again,and she started right up. I couldn't believe it was something so simple !thankyou.gif

great news !!!! I actually think someone has previously posted a similar problem in the past, and same simple solution. file this one under "mysterious Porsche issues," and...keep calm and carry on. Cheers, jl

Where is that located at ? Thats a great idea clapping.gif " Mysterious Porsche issues" that is , if it ain't on there create it. Wonderful cars , but many times mysterious problems,easily solved blink.gif

I don't know of one for all Porsche, but JP started one for the turbo and some issues are universal.
