I have an 03 Carerra that is supposed to have a Bose Sound system, my question is, Even though you have the Bose on the speaker cover, how do you really know it is Bose, i can not find any other info that tells me it is Bose. I have searched everywere for info even called Porsche North America.

Hi buddy,

if its got bose it will have a subwoofer behind rear seats which you cant miss, under the front hood it will have 2 bose amps, if still unsure take door panel off and remove speaker, also dealer will be able to tell you if it was fitted new, option code for bose was 680, check in your service book to see if it is stamped with the code 680, also follow this link for all option codes

2 bose amps under the front hood? I have bose in two of my cars but only had 1 amp in each. Both cars had the MOST fiber optic system, one with CDR-23 and the other with a PCM. Also, the cabriolet doesn't have a sub behind the seat rather in the passenger footwell.

I have a (new to me) 2004 C4S, which includes the M680 option ("Bose sound system including autopilot (digital)"), and I don't see anything in the front trunk at all. Is the amp hidden behind some panel somewhere, or do I have the version all driven from the CDR-23 in the dash?

amp on the C4S is located by the spare tire, and under the tire cover panel in the front end.
