Seat Removal Now have air bag failure light on

Recommended Posts

2003 Boxster S 55k mi,

Went looking for a power steering leak yesterday, pulled the seats to get access through the bulkhead,

After reinstalling the seats the airbag failure light is on.

So what did I upset? Would I need to reseat the seat connectors maybe?

From reading the previous post I will need a Durametric or other equipment to clr the fault.

Did not find leak, but did not think to run engine while the covers were off.

Thanks ahead of time

I figured that would be the case after reading the other posts.

I pulled the seats with the top down, then put the top up to access the top of the engine.

That is where I triggered the fault.

Thanks Loren

If you had the key in the ignition when you pulled a seat then the airbag light will trigger. The airbag circuit is active whenever the key is in the ignition - even in the off position.

Just use the Durametric to reset it.
