Loren, part removal question

Recommended Posts

I know this has been answered before, but I searched, and couldn't find an answer. I am replacing my batwing, but I have nav. sys. so I can't just pull out the cd tray. I am wanting to know, how do the side panels come off? just pull? If I can get these off, I should be able to push out the batwing, correct? The car is an 04, 996 if that matters. Thanks.

It helps to see the back of the side panels to know where to pry:

This is the driver's side panel of my MY2000 996. As you can see the 3 clips are in the back. There are 3 little clips in the front of the cage that fit into the grooves in the front of the panel.

To replace align the cage clips with the grooves in the side panel and snap the 3 clips on the back, and Bob's your uncle!
