HELP...!!!

My 2004 C4S drivers door window has an intermittent fault. When you open the door the window drops and then when the door is open it often lifts back up before the door closes. It is so intermittent that it often jumps up and down constantly, like its going to destroy itself.

Ive had the door to bits and tested all 3 microswitches associated with the door latch and both handles and all appeared to work satisfactorily. I rebuilt the door and fault reappeared much to my annoyance!!

Has anyone had any experience with this type of fault, only other things I can think of is a faulty relay or cable fault? Anybody know which relay it is for the drivers door?

Not sure about the relay, and based by your post you have probably already tried this but here is a link that could help.

Did you reprogram your windows, go down and hold for 10 sec and then go back up and hold for 10 sec? Mine has done what you talked about after replacing the regulator and reconnecting the battery (kind of freaky, lol), but stopped once the windows were reprogrammed.

Make sure the door latch is working properly.... quick check is the dome light, if it doesnt always come on when you open the door thats a sure sign of a batch latch.

This tricks the car into thinking the door is closed and lifts the window.

My 2 cents.
