Front License Plate Mounting

Recommended Posts

What are you driving? Standard 996 and Boxsters all have factory punched 6mmx7mm holes, and we provide plugs, of course. But you should NOT have to drill anything on those models. I am looking at your signature, and see an '01. Perhaps you have a 997. Email me for some ideas.

I am in MD too. Someone in the after-market auto business told me something interesting. He had a state trooper come in as a customer with a modified Mustang. He said the cop told him that if the car doesn't come from the factory with mounting holes for the front bumper, you don't have to put it on. My salesman at the Porsche dealer couldn't verifiy that but he said he rarely hears of any cusomter problems with the police. So I don't know if that's true but if you decide to take the issue further and find anything out, let me know!

In MD I need to have a front license plate. Anyone have a better solution than drilling holes into the front bumper to mount the bracket?

you can ask for the original mounting bracket to your local dealer. mine came with it already mounted. or you can check out some germany dealers. i am sure that they will provide it
