New to me 996 Coupe

Recommended Posts

Found a lightly optioned (that was what I was looking for!) 1999 coupe. Ocean Blue Metallic, with grey leather. Memory heated seats, rear wiper, Porsche crest center caps.

71K miles, with a Porsch crate motor that was installed at about 56K miles.

New clutch done in the last 100 miles, new tires all around.

Car is in very good condition and should be in my garage by tomorrow evening. :clapping:

Excited about the new car, have had lots of other P cars over the years....

'84 Carrera Slate Blue Metallic

'87 Carrera Guards Red

'90 Carrera GP White

'87 951 Guards Red

'99 986 Guards Red

'70 914 1.7L Tangerine

'70 914-6 2.7RS GP White

'73 914 2.0L Delphi Green Metallic

'74 914 2056CC Phoenix Red

'75 914 2.0L GP White

'99 Carrera Ocean Blue Metallic

The 996 is now registered in my name and in my garage!

Now starts the detailing to remove 12 years of stuff other owners didn't deal with!

Got some of the rear end done tonite. Cleaned around the Carrera letters on the engine lid...looked like they hadn't been touched in years

Polished the SS exhaust tips, cleaned around the spoiler and engine lid in the engine compartment and cleaned the rear bumper and valence. Got all the polish out of the body lines/nooks/crannies on the rear.

Cleaned the rear license plate up and tossed the dealer frame

Dash switch installed and functioning for the spoiler :clapping:

Dash switch installed and functioning for the OBC

Exhaust is now modified slightly. 1.5" SS mandrel bent tube now installed between the inlet to the muffler and the exhaust pipe just before the exhaust tip. Has a nice bark to it now just like a PSE for pennies on the dollar.

At idle and constant speed it sounds just about like stock, but crowd it a bit and it sounds very healthy now. No resonance at cruising speeds either. A great mod.

Now I just need to drive the darn thing!

Check out this page for the sound and what it looks like.

Did mine just like this!

Can I ask where you had the exhaust done? I live in the Bay Area and have the exact same model, color, and year except its a cabrio with 41k miles.
